Josh Hart is set to return for the New York Knicks on Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers after missing eight games with a right ankle sprain.
New York Knicks received a much-needed boost ahead of Sunday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, as Josh Hart has been cleared and is available to play.
New York Knicks / Schedule
The starting forward had missed eight straight games after suffering an ankle injury on Christmas Day.
Hart was hurt during the Knicks' win over the Cleveland Cavaliers when he stepped on Dean Wade's foot while attacking the basket in transition.
His ankle rolled awkwardly, but the veteran stayed on the floor long enough to knock down his free throws before heading to the locker room. The injury was later diagnosed as a right ankle sprain.
While Hart numbers do not always stand out, his impact is clear. He averages 12.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game this season, bringing energy, defense, and playmaking to the lineup. The Knicks are 19-9 when Hart plays and 11-4 when he logs at least 30 minutes.
