The latest Man Utd fixture news latest as they return to Premier League action this week.

United sit 7th in the league after they were held to a draw by Burnley last week, with the table congested in the race for Champions League qualification at the end of the season. United are just three points behind Liverpool in fourth place, but are also just three points ahead of Everton in 12th position.

United targeted a top six finish in the Premier League this season and sources claim they sacked Ruben Amorim due to a lack of 'evolution and progress' this campaign. A new caretaker head coach is expected to be appointed this week and should be in charge when they return to league action at the weekend. Here is all the latest fixture news.

Manchester United next five fixtures

Manchester United are back in action when they host local rivals Man City on Saturday 17 January in what could be the first match for their new caretaker head coach.

United would like to have clarity on their temporary boss when they return to Premier League action this weekend, before they then travel to face Arsenal on Sunday 25 January. They begin February with a home match against Fulham on Sunday 1 and another against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 7. United are back on the road when they travel to face West Ham on Tuesday 10 February.

Ruben Amorim had been set the target of a top-six finish in the Premier League this season back in the summer and that will remain the ambition for their caretaker boss. United aim to return to European football at the first time of asking and are aware a top-five finish should be enough for a Champions League place at the end of the campaign, though there are no guarantees given the Uefa coefficient.
