Key Points

Curry broke Michael Jordan's record for most 30-point games by a guard post-30.

Caitlin Clark and Stephen Curry have many things in common. They are both considered some of the best shooters to ever exist in basketball history. They are both staunch supporters of each other’s leagues, often speaking out positively about one another individually as well. And neither is afraid to let it fly from the logo.

And now, they have one more thing in common. Curry, while his Golden State Warriors took on the Atlanta Hawks, donned a pair of popular (Caitlin) Clark Nike sneakers. While Clark has worn a wide variety of Nike sneakers throughout her young career, she has come to make a handful of Kobe Bryant’s signature sneakers trendy.

One of these pairs is the Kobe 6 PEs, featured in light armory blue. Curry took the court inside Chase Center on Sunday night rocking his own pair. They caught many spectators’ eyes during Curry’s pregame warmup-routine, and his footwear selection remained a topic of conversation as he made NBA history along the way.

While the Warriors fell to the Hawks 124-111, that didn’t stop Curry from breaking an NBA record held by none other than Michael Jordan. Curry scored 31 points on Sunday, and according to @realapp on X, he surpassed Jordan for the most 30-point games by a guard after the age of 30 in NBA history.

Curry didn’t have his most efficient game ever, shooting just 3-for-11 from 3-point range, however, he finished with a game-high 31 points to go with his three rebounds and five assists in 33 total minutes played.

As for the light armory blue, Caitlin Clark Kobe 6 PEs, his fashion choice continues to highlight his support of not only Clark, but the WNBA as a whole.

While the basketball world is anxiously awaiting the return of Clark to the basketball court (officially), after much of her sophomore WNBA season was lost to injury, Curry continues to dazzle with his play as he traverses the back-nine of his playing-career.

Even at 37 years of age, his 30-point performances aren’t rare. In his 30 games played so far this season, Curry has scored at least 30 points 13 times. In fact, he’s scored at least 40 points in four of those games. He continues to show the world why he’s considered the greatest shooter of all-time while showing off his prowess around the rim from time to time as well.

Curry was tied to (Kobe) Bryant in more ways than one on Sunday. With his 31 points, Curry, and his father Dell Curry, surpassed (Kobe) Bryant and his father, Joe, for the second-most points scored by a father-son duo in NBA history. The Curry’s now sit at 38,896 points with the Bryant’s at 38,895. They trail only LeBron James and Bronny who’ve scored 42,692.

Curry is averaging 28.8 points, 4.6 assists, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.7 made 3-pointers per game. At 37, he’s shown little to no signs of slowing down, however, his team has struggled with health and consistency through their first 40 games this year. They sit at 21-19 on the season, good for the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference.

Curry’s next chance at NBA history will come on Tuesday against the Portland Trail Blazers, at home, at 11:00 p.m. EDT on NBC and Peacock. The world will likely be watching to see what footwear he chooses for this contest as well.
