Opinion: Estevao Willian proves what Brazilian football is saying about him after Baller League appearance

It is fair to say that Estevao Willian is a very busy teenager, with the 18-year-old playing for Chelsea and then having to travel abroad to represent the Brazil national team.

Estevao will have no complaints, though. Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world, while it is every Brazilian footballer’s dream to put on the Selecao shirt. The former Palmeiras star has already done it 11 times.

Right now, it is a hectic period for Chelsea, who are playing two games a week. They took on Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup over the weekend, a few days after facing Fulham in the Premier League.

What are your first impressions of Liam Rosenior’s tactics following Chelsea’s FA Cup win against Charlton?

What differences did you notice between his style and Enzo Maresca's? 👀

However, Estevao has still managed to find some time for himself away from football.

Chelsea winger Estevao Willian proves superstar status after invitation to Baller League

Estevao was recently invited to Baller League to, in the words of Sky Sports, “judge some of the players’ skills” on show.

Baller League is a fast-paced, small-sided football competition that blends professional players, influencers and celebrities into an entertainment-focused league with short matches and innovative rules.

The fact that Estevao is already being invited as a guest to a big event like this shows that he is a highly-regarded figure in football.

At this point, you might as well call the Brazilian a superstar. Performing at both club and international level while gaining attention off the pitch is what elevates a footballer to that status. After appearing at Baller League, you can tick all three of those boxes for Estevao.

Of course, in Brazil, Estevao has already been labelled as a superstar after his performances for the nation, Chelsea and former side Palmeiras.

In a recent Chelsea training session, Liam Rosenior was seen putting his arm around Estevao. Hopefully this is the start of a fantastic relationship between the two.

Estevao Willian has to start against Arsenal

Rosenior has the chance to unleash Estevao on Wednesday when Chelsea face Arsenal in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie.

The Brazil international came on in Chelsea’s FA Cup win against Charlton and made a huge impact.

Charlton could not get anywhere near him, and when the Addicks did, they just ended up giving a penalty away.

Pedro Neto managed to score during that game, but his form has dipped recently. On the opposite flank, Alejandro Garnacho has not fully convinced, so Rosenior should be able to find room in his starting XI for Estevao this Wednesday. He has to, as Chelsea look like a more dangerous side when Estevao is on the pitch running at defenders.
