Nuggets coach explains how he broke the rules on Aaron Gordon

Nuggets coach David Adelman leaned on Doc Rivers' example, bending minute restrictions to play Aaron Gordon nearly 32 minutes in a 108-104 win over the Bucks despite his recent hamstring injury.

Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon played his fourth game since returning from a strained right hamstring, helping Denver to a 108-104 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday.

Unlike his first three games at the start of January, Gordon played nearly 32 minutes despite still being on a minute restriction. Head coach David Adelman admitted it was a bold move.

"Giannis has been on a minutes restriction, too. They obviously went away from that. So I followed suit," Adelman said after the game. "Doc is gonna be in the Hall of Fame someday, so I figured, if he can break the minute restriction rules, I can too."

Gordon missed 19 games with the hamstring injury. He had 23 points and grabbed six rebounds against Milwaukee while averaging 18.1 points and 6.1 boards for the season.

Currently, without Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets sit at 26-13 on the season.
