On the same day as Manchester United exited from the FA Cup after the 2-1 loss to Brighton, Marcus Rashford’s Barcelona beat Real Madrid to win a trophy.
From Rashford’s perspective, there was a catch, as he played only seven minutes of the final, but he won’t care much.

Rashford has generally been a positive influence at Barcelona, and his message after winning his first trophy had responses from many Man Utd players.

Rashford might not be a popular figure for how it ended for him at Old Trafford, but true Man Utd fans won’t wish for failure for a player who came through the ranks.
In any case, Rashford playing well at Barcelona closes the chapter that could have otherwise been troublesome for United next summer.

Bruno Fernandes replied, “Congratulations my brother,” with a heart emoji, as Harry Maguire said, “Love it mate,” with a clapping emoji.
United’s academy sensation JJ Gabriel sent a fire emoji while the post was liked by Rasmus Hojlund, Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, and Diogo Dalot, among others.
Rashford can complete a treble in his debut season
The Supercopa de España represents the first trophy won by Rashford this season, but it is not likely to be the last.
Barcelona lead La Liga ahead of Real Madrid by four points after 19 games, and look the more likely team to seal the title amid Madrid’s troubles.

Flick has also won the Champions League previously, so Barcelona can’t be ruled out of that competition either, especially with players returning from injury.
United will be rooting for Barcelona’s success because it means more financial resources available for them to make a play for Rashford.
If they can manage to sell Rashford for his buy option value, it will represent the perfect closing of the chapter for his career at United.
