Federico Chiesa’s Liverpool future is up in the air, with his old club Juventus keen to facilitate a return to Turin.
After 18 months of Chiesa at Anfield, it is looking more and more likely that he will be departing this January.
Chiesa has contacted old teammates in Italy ahead of the potential switch, and the Reds don’t seem to be standing in his way.

Juventus will accept loan with obligation for Chiesa
There has been some hesitance from Liverpool to allow the Italian to leave on a temporary basis. They want some guarantee that the move will stick.
That means including an obligation to buy in any deal.
Now, Tuttosport are suggesting that Juventus will meet this requirement.

They report: “The offer to Liverpool for Federico Chiesa is practically ready: in the next few hours, the Reds will receive a formal communication regarding the Bianconeri’s intentions, as they will inevitably have to raise the stakes to meet the English club’s demands.

“The loan agreement will remain unchanged, but work is underway to convert the option to buy into a mandatory buyout. Juve would like to make it conditional on the player’s appearances, thus ensuring Chiesa’s fitness and overall fit within an environment he knows well, but which is quite different from how he left it.”
The 28-year-old has become something of a cult hero since arriving at Anfield at the start of last season, but an exit has been on the cards for some time.
Arne Slot doesn’t seem to trust Chiesa. It could be best for everyone for him to move on.

If Juventus come with an offer that satisfies the demands of the Merseyside club, it will be hard to turn down.
However, with Mohamed Salah still at AFCON, it’s possible that they will stall the acceptance until they have their star back from Morocco. Otherwise, the forward areas look dangerously understaffed.
All signs point to Chiesa leaving this month — even if it will upset those in the Liverpool fanbase who have fallen in love with the player.
If these reports are to be believed, we should be keeping an ear out for an official offer in the coming hours and days.
