World class attacker Chelsea wants to sign will cost£132M and more than £17.9M-a-year in wages to sign

Chelsea’s reported interest in Real Madrid star Vinícius Júnior has sent ripples through the transfer market, with the Brazilian winger widely regarded as one of the most destructive attackers in world football. But acquiring a player of his calibre wouldn’t come cheap — on or off the pitch according to reporter Iomie Stanley

CHELSEA have already spent some serious money the last couple of transfer windows, they have improved that defence, that midfield and even added some new strikers to that attack, but there is always time to keep on adding players to the squad.

And now there could be a chance to try and sign Vinicius Junior from Madid, as Spanish outlet Fichajes claim that Los Blancos are ready to cash in on their superstar after refusing to put Vinicius Jr on the same salary as Kylian Mbappe.

Saudi giants Al-Hilal have retained an interest in the Brazilian winger, but this latest development would also perk the ears of Premier League sides as Chelsea have been long-term admirers of the Brazilian star.

Stanley told icfootballnews: ‘Real Madrid appear prepared to demand a significant fee if they are to sanction Vinícius’s departure. Multiple reports over recent months have suggested that:

‘Madrid could **set an asking price of around €150 million (£132m) for Vinícius — even though he enters the final two years of his contract in 2026.

‘Some outlets have previously claimed Real might consider offers in the €125–€150m ballpark including add-ons — an idea that aligns with Chelsea’s reported planning.

‘A fee in the €150m range — or higher if a bidding war breaks out among European heavyweights — would mark Vinícius as one of the most expensive players ever acquired by a Premier League club, underlining just how much Real value him despite contract uncertainty.

‘Vinícius is already among the best-paid players at Real Madrid, but his wage ambitions have reportedly been a sticking point in recent contract negotiations:

‘According to multiple salary trackers, he currently earns in the region of £345,000 per week (about €400,000/week) at Real Madrid — around £17.9 million per year.

‘Should CHELSEA pursue him, they would almost certainly have to match or exceed those expectations to entice him away from Spain — especially if rivals in the Premier League or Saudi Pro League also enter the race.

‘Chelsea would be paying not only for past performances (he starred in Real’s recent Champions League and La Liga campaigns) but for future potential as a generational attacking force. That premium is reflected in both the fee and wages required.

‘Conclusion: A Big Price for a Big Talent

‘In simple terms, Transfer fee: Anticipated around €150 million+ and his Wage demands would Likely €25–€30 million per year — potentially more with bonuses

‘Whether CHELSEA decide to go all-in will depend on their ambition to return to the top tier of European football, their willingness to restructure their wage bill, and how strongly Vinícius himself favours a move to Stamford Bridge over other suitors.

If the Blues are serious, they’ll need a record-setting offer fitting for one of the world’s elite forwards.
