Moises Caicedo played a key role in Liam Rosenior’s first game as Chelsea manager.
Caicedo did not score, but he started in Chelsea’s 5-1 win against Charlton Athletic over the weekend.
The 24-year-old dominated the midfield and won the ball back just as he usually does. It was an FA Cup tie versus a Championship side, so you cannot get carried away, but Caicedo has already proven himself in a Chelsea shirt anyway.

He was one of the Blues’ best players under Enzo Maresca, and you would expect a similar theme under Rosenior.

Moises Caicedo tells Liam Rosenior they’re going to be successful together
During Maresca’s tenure at Stamford Bridge, Caicedo was able to win the Club World Cup and Conference League.
The midfielder has now promised Rosenior that they are going to enjoy similar success together while he is at the club.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official club website, Caicedo said: “I think he just wants discipline and effort from us, in training, in games. We have started really well with him and for sure we are going to do a lot of good things with him.”

This season, the main objective for Rosenior will be securing Champions League qualification. Following a run of one win in nine games, Chelsea find themselves in eighth place, four points behind fourth.
It is early days, but Rosenior is impressing Gary Lineker and others with how he has conducted himself as Chelsea manager so far.

Moises Caicedo’s assessment of Charlton game
Caicedo has also been discussing Chelsea’s victory over Charlton in the third round of the FA Cup.
Despite being a Championship side, the Blues feared that they would be a difficult outfit to face. They got the win in the end, though, and Caicedo is happy with his team’s performance.
“We are so pleased with the win because we knew they are so difficult to play against, so the team was good,” the Ecuadorian said. “It’s a battle when you play against a team like them, but our team was prepared. I think we did very well and we won the game.”
Chelsea’s next cup game will be even harder. They take on Arsenal in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie.
The last time these two sides met, which was in November, Caicedo was sent off. He cannot let the passion and emotion that come with a London derby of this size get to him again.
