Bradley replacement: Liverpool now considering move to sign "aggressive" star from top European …

Liverpool are now reportedly considering a move to sign a Bundesliga star to replace Conor Bradley, who's set to miss the rest of the campaign through injury.

Liverpool learn extent of Bradley's injury

Up until stoppage time, it was a fairly positive night for Liverpool at the Emirates last week. The Reds entered as damaged champions, but left with the knowledge that the next in line for the throne have been unable to get one over on them this season. It would have been the perfect night for Arne Slot had his side taken all three points and had Bradley not suffered yet another injury.

The Northern Irishman looked in discomfort almost instantly, but Gabriel Martinelli wasn't convinced - pushing the right-back whilst he was down in a moment of madness that he has since apologised for.

The latest update on Bradley's injury won't have done Martinelli's guilt any favours, either, after it was confirmed that the defender will miss the remainder of the season.

It's a major blow for Liverpool, who had just found their settled backline to enjoy an eight-game unbeaten run centred around their ability to shut sides out.

Given that Jeremie Frimpong is not long back from an injury of his own and Joe Gomez's history on the sidelines speaks for itself, those at Anfield may yet have no choice but to turn towards the January transfer market.

The Reds are now ready to capitalise as they aim to build a dynasty under Arne Slot.

Already short on centre-backs, Slot can't risk competing for top four with Dominik Szoboszlai moving out of midfield and into right-back. Liverpool must welcome much-needed cover before it's too late, even if it is only a short-term solution in the form of a Bundesliga star.

Liverpool considering Ryerson move

As reported by German journalist Christopher Michel, Liverpool are now considering a move to sign Julian Ryerson from Borussia Dortmund this month.

The 28-year-old has started just 10 Bundelsiga games this season, competing for a place alongside Yan Couto more often than not, and could yet be on the move this month as a result.

Liverpool would certainly be an impressive move too, especially if he earned a starting place. In one transfer and one injury to Bradley, Ryerson could go from Dortmund's bench to a starting role at Anfield.

Whilst he has struggled to keep hold of his Dortmund place at times, Ryerson's stats suggest that he's more than capable of stepping into Liverpool's side in the absence of Bradley.

The right-back was described as "aggressive" by Dortmund's sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, and it's easy to see why when looking at his ability to recover possession.

If Liverpool want to step away from their defensive approach, then that aggression would certainly go a long way.
