Image: Barcelona to unveil a new logo on third kit next season

Nike has left no stone unturned when it comes to designing Barcelona’s kits in recent years, some of which have been outstanding.

Next season will be no exception, with the American apparel giant currently hard at work designing next season’s three kits.

While the kit designs for all three kits have been heavily leaked already, a recent report from FootyHeadlines (h/t SPORT) has offered an interesting piece of insight.

Barcelona to unveil a new logo?

It appears Barcelona’s third kit will incorporate a new retro-inspired logo, designed to serve as a special graphic element rather than a replacement for the institutional emblem.

This new design incorporates classic aesthetic elements based on a shield with a unique silhouette.

As seen in leaks, the word ‘Barça’ appears as the central element, accompanied by the Nike logo and a stylised graphic reminiscent of a globe or ball.

Crucially, this logo will not replace the traditional crest on the chest, which remains the sole official symbol on the kit.

Instead, this retro icon will be limited to specific details, such as the sleeves, the shirt hem, or the inside of the collar, reinforcing the kit’s distinctive character without altering historical identity.

The kit’s colour palette is equally bold, combining “Green Frost,” “Dusty Cactus,” “Gym Red,” and “Loyal Blue”.

This specific combination is quite reminiscent of the away kit worn by Ronaldo Nazario during the 1996/97 season, a historic campaign where Barcelona won the Cup Winners’ Cup.

The design balances cool and warm tones, using red and blue on the sleeves to reference the club’s traditional colours.
