Newcastle United v Manchester City: 12 players have already been confirmed to miss the Carabao Cup clash between Eddie Howe and Pep Guardiola’s sides at St James’ Park.
Both Eddie Howe and Pep Guardiola are having to deal with their own injury crises ahead of their meeting at St James’ Park on Tuesday night.
Howe and Guardiola both named strong teams on Saturday with their respective options severely depleted by injury issues. It has already been confirmed that 12 players will miss Tuesday night’s game, whilst there are doubts over three others.
Here, we take a look at the latest injury news from both camps ahead of Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg between Newcastle United and Manchester City at St James’ Park.
Manchester City injury news v Newcastle United
Ruben Dias - out
Dias suffered a hamstring injury in the final few minutes of Manchester City’s draw with Chelsea earlier this month. The Portuguese international is expected to miss around a month of action.
Josko Gvardiol - out
A bad ankle injury is set to keep Gvardiol sidelined for a number of months. The Croatian international faces a race against time to be back fit ahead of this summer’s World Cup.

John Stones - out
Stones hasn’t featured for Manchester City since their dramatic 5-4 win over Fulham at the beginning of December. A thigh injury will keep him out of action against the Magpies this week.
Mateo Kovacic - out
Kovacic will miss the first-leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals with an ankle injury.
Oscar Bobb - out
Bobb scored a famous last-gasp winner for Manchester City at St James’ Park two years ago. He won’t feature against the Magpies this week.
Savinho - out
Savinho has missed all three of Manchester City’s last three outings through injury. He isn’t expected to feature at St James’ Park.

Marmoush is currently away at the African Cup of Nations. Marmoush’s Egypt will play Senegal on Wednesday night for a spot in the final.
Rayan Ait-Nouri - doubt
Ait-Nouri has returned from duty with Algeria at the African Cup of Nations but returned later than expected to Manchester after missing a connecting flight. He is a doubt to feature at St James’ Park.

Fabian Schar - out
Schar suffered an ankle ligament injury against Leeds United earlier this month and has been ruled-out of action for the foreseeable future.
Dan Burn - out
Burn has not been seen in action since the defeat to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last month. A return towards the end of January has been pencilled in for the defender.
Will Osula - out
An ankle injury continues to plague Osula. His last appearance for the Magpies came at the London Stadium back in November and there has not been an official timescale placed on his return to full fitness.
Emil Krafth - out
Krafth’s versatility has been a huge miss in recent weeks as Newcastle United’s defensive injury crisis deepens. The Swedish international is not expected to feature against Manchester City.
Tino Livramento - out
Livramento became the latest player to join Newcastle United’s growing injury list after suffering a hamstring injury on Saturday. Livramento won’t feature against the side he has been heavily-linked with joining.
Anthony Elanga - doubt
Elanga is regarded as a doubt to feature against Manchester City. Elanga suffered a knee injury against Chelsea last month and has not featured since.
Jacob Murphy - doubt
Murphy was not named by Howe in Saturday’s matchday squad. There is hope that he can feature against the Citizens on Tuesday night, though.
