Liverpool are in pole position to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande after the player admitted that he is a “huge” fan of the Reds.
Speaking on a TikTok live stream (quotes via Sport Witness), the Ivorian international made his feelings clear about which team he would like to join in the future:
“I want to play for Liverpool. I’m a huge Liverpool fan. My dad dreams of seeing me play at Anfield!”

Diomande has been linked with a transfer to Merseyside in recent weeks, although Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and Bayern Munich have also been mentioned as potential suitors.
Liverpool would have to pay a sizeable fee
Diomande only joined Leipzig from Spanish side Leganes for €20m (£17.3m) last summer, and there are reports suggesting that the Bundesliga side have slapped an asking price of around €100m (£87m) on the teenager.
That is a lot of money when you can consider that the forward has only made 26 first-team appearances, having made his senior debut less than a year ago.
Nonetheless, Diomande has caught the eye for both club and country in recent weeks. He has 11 goal contributions in 16 appearances for Leipzig, while he has scored 3 times in his first 9 caps for the Ivory Coast.
Diomande could replace Diaz
Sporting director Richard Hughes opted against replacing Luis Diaz when the Colombian international was sold to Bayern last summer. It was felt that Rio Ngumoha needed an opportunity to stake his claim for a first-team place.
However, head coach Arne Slot has been reluctant to play the 17-year-old on a regular basis. That has led to calls for a new winger to be brought in.
After losing out on Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City, Diomande looks like an ideal profile due to his age and overall potential. We shall see if Liverpool do make a move for him.
