Sorry City–In-demand£60M star‘wants to join Liverpool’

According to The Athletic’s Sam Lee, Liverpool could have the upper hand over Manchester City in the hunt for Marc Guehi, as the Crystal Palace defender would reportedly prefer a move to Anfield over the Etihad.

Guehi, who becomes a free agent at the end of the season, had been linked with a January move to Manchester City, LIVERPOOL, Arsenal and Chelsea for his performances in that Palace shirt over the past few transfer windows.

The defender has not come out and admitted that he would like to leave, nor has any of the chasing clubs submitted an offer to try and get a deal done, but that hasnt stopped the speculation which has suggested a move could happen this month.

Manchester City want to sign the Crystal Palace captain this month following injuries to Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol, with Arsenal and Liverpool keen on moving in the summer – when his current contract at Selhurst Park expires.

However, Liverpool could still have the lead in the race.

Speaking ton the Let Me Talk Podcast, Lee said: “On Monday night, I was told by somebody who knows what’s going on at City, but also I think probably Palace as well, he said he thinks Guehi wants to stay until the summer and he prefers Liverpool [to City] in any case.

“Somebody else messaged me on Twitter and I know he’s very good on other club stuff, he was like: ‘Yeah, he wants to stay until the summer – and he prefers Liverpool and Arsenal’.”

IcFootballnews Says…

If Guehi chose a move to LIVERPOOL, it would be a dream come true as he could really help solve those issues that Arne Slot has been having this season it would be a massive move to make that is for sure.

But will he be available in the summer? that is the massive question this January
