Chelsea will assess the fitness of Cole Palmer, Reece James and Malo Gusto before Liam Rosenior decides his line-up for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Arsenal.
Blues midfielder Moises Caicedo is suspended for the game at Stamford Bridge, which will be Rosenior’s first at home since taking over as head coach.
Palmer, James and Gusto were not involved inthe recent FA Cup win against Charlton.
Rosenior explained at a press conference on Monday that their fitness is being “managed” and that he is yet to decide whether they will be involved against the Gunners.
“We’ve had no injury problems coming out from Charlton, which is a really, really good thing,” said Rosenior.
“I’ll make a decision on Cole, Reece and Malo. I’m giving them some extra time.
“I’ve got time to make a decision. I haven’t made a decision on the team. I will make that decision tomorrow or Wednesday morning.”
The competition represents a chance for Rosenior to win a trophy in his first season at the helm.
Chelsea face a tough task against the Premier League leaders, but Rosenior says they have been preparing for the game since his recent appointment.
“We’ve been tactically working on Arsenal since the minute I got into the building – including set-plays, which they are very good at,” he said.
“Arsenal are good at everything. I respect them and think they will respect us.”
