Liverpool are among a host of Premier League clubs keen on signing promising Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet, according to reports.
The Anfield side are claimed to be monitoring the highly rated 20-year-old, viewed as one of the best young defenders in France.
Chelsea and Arsenal are also believed to be interested in Jacquet, who has made 15 league appearances for Rennes this season, with his performances capturing the attention of several top clubs.
Rennes are in a strong negotiating position regarding the defender, having extended Jacquet’s contract last summer until the end of the 2028/29 season.

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Liverpool have identified Jacquet, praised as an 'insane centre-back in the making', as a potential target but could face competition from a host of English and European clubs.
Both Real Madrid and Manchester City are also said to be keeping tabs on the 20-year-old, whose performances in Ligue 1 have been full of promise.
A graduate of the Rennes academy, Jacquet spent the first part of last season on loan at Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot, where he made 17 appearances and scored two goals.
The 2005-born Frenchman, praised as the 'new William Saliba', has been handed a prominent role in Rennes’ first-team squad this term, starting 16 of their 17 league games.
His efforts have helped Rennes go on an impressive run of results since the start of November, with the Ligue 1 side winning six of their last seven games.
Rennes have sold a plethora of exciting talents in recent seasons, with the likes of Jeremy Doku, Desire Doue, and Eduardo Camavinga among their most expensive departures.
Liverpool Face Marc Guehi Competition

Liverpool’s reported interest in Jacquet is hardly surprising, given the Reds are anticipated to welcome at least one new central defender in 2026.
The reigning Premier League champions are long-term admirers of Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, who was close to joining last summer.
It remains likely that Liverpool may explore a move for the England international again, closer to his contract expiry in June, with Guehi expected to leave Palace then.
As GIVEMESPORT previously indicated, Liverpool are likely to face increased competition for Guehi this year, with Manchester City also registering their interest in the defender.
While Palace are believed to be open to Guehi’s departure after the season, manager Oliver Glasner expects Guehi to see out the campaign at Selhurst Park before deciding on his next club.
