The Boston Celtics have reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Dallas Mavericks big man Daniel Gafford.

According to Marc Stein, the Celtics, along with the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers, are exploring the possibility of acquiring the 27-year-old center.

“The Hawks, league sources say, have been insistent that they were never willing to include former No. 1 overall Zaccharie Risacher with the expiring contracts of Kristaps Porzingis and Luke Kennard in an offer for Davis,” Stein reported.

“But I’ve heard a rival executive or two suggest that the teams could pivot to a potential Daniel Gafford swap, which would remove Risacher from the negotiations entirely if they choose. Atlanta is said to have some interest in the Dallas big man, alongside Indiana and Boston, which had previously explored the trade market for Anfernee Simons.”

Gafford has appeared in 28 games for the Mavericks this season, averaging 7.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in roughly 20 minutes per game.
