Arsenal contact for Brazilian gem–Double source on Gunners transfer efforts

Arsenal have asked about Breno Bidon, and TNT Sports in Brazil have now backed that up. The update supports earlier reports that the Premier League club contacted Brazilian side Corinthians. However, Arsenal still have not made a formal offer.

TNT Sports also add further detail to the enquiry. The outlet report that Arsenal made contact not only with Corinthians, but also with Dodici Sports, the agency that represents the 20-year-old midfielder.

The conversations focused on understanding Bidon’s situation and the possibility of a future move. No figures were discussed, and no proposal was submitted.

This confirms Arsenal remains in a similar place to Manchester United. Neither have moved beyond monitoring and information gathering. Chelsea was the only one club who has reportedly made an initial offer so far, but it was far below Corinthians’ expectations.

Corinthians’ plans for Bidon depend on Arsenal and others

While European clubs continue to gather information, Corinthians already have a clear plan in place. According to local outlet Itatiaia, the Brazilian club intend to negotiate Bidon only at the end of the year (mid 2026/27 season in England).

The same approach applies to other valued players, as the board want to avoid weakening the squad during a demanding season that includes the Copa Libertadores.

The club believe that keeping Bidon away from Arsenal and others for another year, with regular minutes and continued exposure, could push his value even higher.

That stance could change if an exceptional, out-of-the-ordinary offer arrives, something more likely to happen during the middle-of-the-year transfer window.

Bidon’s possible exit has also been discussed by manager Dorival Júnior in a recent press conference.“He’s a very important player. And if I’m being honest with you, I wouldn’t like to lose any player”, he said. “We need to find balance so we can have a strong squad throughout the year. That is our biggest challenge.”

For now, Corinthians remain calm, the player stays focused on the season ahead, and any real decision depends on whether a truly irresistible offer emerges.

That’s down to Arsenal and others.
