Liverpool team confirmed to face Barnsley in the FA Cup third round.
Arne Slot has named a strong Liverpool team for tonight’s FA Cup third-round tie against Barnsley at Anfield.
The Reds make six changes from the 0-0 draw at Arsenal last week. But captain Virgil van Dijk, Dominik Szoboszlai, Jeremie Frimpong, Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo all continue.
Andy Robertson comes in at left-back for Milos Kerkez. Joe Gomez is handed a chance in central defence alongside Van Dijk, with Ibrahima Konate rested. Jeremie Frimpong drops to right-back to replace the injured Conor Bradley, with Curtis Jones restored to the midfield.
Rio Ngumoha and Federico Chiesa feature in attack in the place of Florian Wirtz and Ryan Gravenberch respectively, while Giorgi Mamardashvili starts in goal over Alisson Becker.
On the bench, Wataru Endo surprisingly returns after missing the past month with an ankle issue. In addition, Hugo Ekitike is in the squad having been absent for the past two games with a hamstring issue.
Liverpool: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Van Dijk, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Chiesa, Jones, Gakpo, Robertson, Frimpong, Ngumoha.
Subs: Alisson, Endo, Konate, Kerkez, Wirtz, Ekitike, Gravenberch, Nyoni, Ramsay.
