Chelsea table 120M offer for big name–Blues move sign Champions League winner–Dutchman statement signing for Chelsea

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootnallnews featuring the likes of Federico Valverde, Bradley Barcola and Micky Van De Ven that we think you may have missed today…

There has been some shock reports in the media which have claimed that Chelsea are the latest Premier League club to enquire over the potential signing of Bradley Barcola this January transfer window

Barcola, who has been described as ‘one of the best wingers in the world’, was a key member of the PSG squad that won the treble last season, but this season he has found regular game time more difficult to come by, as Luis Enrique has preferred to use Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as his front three

That has made the player desire a move away from the French capital with a host of clubs said to be interested in his services including Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich all interested in a move.

According to TEAMtalk, CHELSEA are one of the many clubs to have held initial talks with intermediaries over Barcola to see if they can yet win the crowded race for his signature, but it is thought that any move for the 23-year-old will occur in the summer.

PSG are open to letting the attacker leave the club, but want to keep hold until at least the summer, as they would get the best price, and would be able to replace the Frenchman if he does depart.

IcFootballnews Says…

Barcola is far too talented to be sitting on the bench and watching his career pass him bye, so a move to another club probably needs to happen unless he can fight his way back into the side at PSG.

CHELSEA would be a very good option for Barcola to make if he wants to challenge for trophies, but in terms of playing time, there are enough quality players at the Emirates to keep Barcola out of the side.

If he does leave PSG, he needs to make sure it is for a team where he can actually play, like Man United or Liverpool, they are probably the two top Premier League sides that need wingers the most.

CHELSEA TABLE VALVEDE OFFER

Here is the latest Chelsea transfer news and gossip as reports have claimed that the Blues have tabled a €120 Million package for Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde it has been claimed in the media.

Liam Rosenior is a man that knows he needs to sign players that will improve the squad enough this January in order to get the Blues back on track for that Champions League place next season, ad maybe a trophy or two.

And according to recent reports, CHELSEA have expressed its ‘firm intention’ to sign Valverde by making a bid of €120 million for the Uruguay international, according to Fichajes, although it appears a deal will be tricky.

The combative Uruguayan would be a great fit for Rosenior’s revolution but Los Blancos have not really intended to sell the midfield star.

Chelsea are said to be willing to offer £95m upfront with around £17m in add-ons for the player.

We would be shocked to see Velverde make the move to the Premier League – he is happy at Madrid – has shown no desire to leave the Bernabeu – this is a transfer that CHELSEA need to forget about

Chelsea will be making alot of transfer moves over the next few months in order to revamp the squad enough to make them challengers for that Premier League title.

But there is no point in chasing players that are never going to move – and Velverde was one of those players.

It should be a very exciting January for the Blues fans – again – but Velverde is a player that will not be exciting in a Chelsea shirt for the next few months.

But it will be very interesting to see just who the club try to get – there are some massive names linked with a move to London and Blues fans are hoping that at least 2 big names make the move to the club.

VAN DE VEN STATEMENT?

With transfer rumours heating up around Micky van de Ven, Chelsea are reportedly among the Premier League clubs keeping tabs on the Dutch centre-back — and it’s not hard to see why the Blues might see him as a transformative addition to their back line, according to reporter Iomie Stanley.

Tottenham may have won that Europa League title last season, but they have been one of the worst big teams in the Premier League for the last couple of years, and this campaign isnt any better.

their home form is terrible, they are conceding too many goals, they are scoring far too few and Spurs fans are so unhappy, that they are booing the players off the pitch on a weekly basis for not fighting enough under boss Thomas Frank.

That has led to all sorts of speculation and rumours in the media suggesting that a number of players are looking for ways out of the club, and Van De Ven is a star that many of the big clubs are very much interested in signing.

Reporter Iomie Stanley told icfootballnews: 1. ‘One of van de Ven’s standout attributes is his exceptional speed and recovery pace. He’s been clocked among the fastest defenders in the Premier League, capable of sprinting past many attackers and recovering quickly when a high line is breached.

‘This kind of pace is a rare asset for a centre-back at any level, and it would give CHELSEA the kind of defensive confidence that allows a more aggressive defensive structure.

‘At 6ft 4in, van de Ven combines height, strength and aerial ability — crucial traits for dominating both domestic and European opponents. He has consistently shown strong tackling and interception statistics in the Premier League, helping to neutralise opposition attacks and win key duels.

‘Chelsea have frequently faced criticism for lacking a reliable ball-playing centre-back to initiate attacks from the back. Van de Ven’s comfort on the ball and willingness to carry forward or progress play could address that need. While he’s not a traditional playmaker from defence, his composure and passing reliability would add stability to build-ups under pressure.

‘At just 24, van de Ven strikes a balance between being ready to contribute immediately and possessing significant room for growth. Chelsea — currently in a period of strategic rebuilding under new management — could benefit from investing in a defender who not only helps now but has the potential to become a long-term cornerstone of their defence.

‘For CHELSEA, signing Micky van de Ven would not just be about adding another defender: it would be a statement signing. His blend of speed, strength and emerging leadership, combined with his age and Premier League experience, makes him a standout candidate to anchor a rejuvenated Blues defence.’
