Liverpool are reportedly monitoring several potential signings as the January transfer window enters a busy period, with just three weeks remaining before the deadline on February 2.

Arne Slot’s side, currently fourth in the Premier League, take a break from league action on Monday night when they host Barnsley at Anfield in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Reds have already confirmed one January addition with the signing of 18-year-old defender Mor Talla Ndiaye, who is expected to join the Under-21 setup.

Liverpool may still look to further strengthen their squad before the window closes, with Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi once again linked with a possible move to Anfield.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has suggested England defender Marc Guehi could leave this month, though he still expects his captain to see out his contract.

“I think Marc will stay but if Marc says ‘I want to leave’, and a club pays massive money – with five months left of a contract – every player will leave if you’re playing for a club like Crystal Palace,” he told Sky Sports. I’m pretty sure our chairman will ask for a very high price for him and then let’s see. I don’t know if Marc wants to leave.”

According to The Independent, Manchester City are intent on persuading Marc Guehi to join the club in January and have already opened talks over a potential deal. Pep Guardiola’s side are prepared to match rival offers, with the 25-year-old understood to be open to the move.

Any January progress could force other interested clubs to improve their proposals ahead of a possible summer transfer, with Guehi free to discuss terms due to his contract expiring at the end of the season.

A deal worth around £35m would take City’s net spend since January 2025 to roughly £470m, following last week’s £65m signing of Antoine Semenyo.

Guehi had previously preferred to wait until the summer, with interest from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal.

Liverpool were close to signing him on deadline day in August, but Palace boss Oliver Glasner blocked the move, a factor that remains relevant as the club continue to hold out for at least £35m.
