DALLAS — Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis previously suffered ligament damage in his left hand. He could miss months of action if surgery is required. Mavs head coach Jason Kidd told reporters ahead of Monday's game against the Brooklyn Nets that a timeline for an update is currently uncertain, but AD is set to meet with doctors this week.
“Sometime this week he (Davis) will talk to the doctors, but there is no schedule or no timetable when he’s going to make that announcement,” Kidd said.
Davis was mentioned in trade rumors before the injury announcement was made. Now, the chances of an AD trade this season appear to be slim. The next injury update will go a long way toward determining if a deal comes to fruition before the trade deadline.
Injuries continue to be a concern for this Mavs squad. Kidd is doing everything he can to help the Mavs compete despite all of the absences.

“We've been through this before, not just with AD, we've been hit with a lot of injuries over the last few years,” Kidd told reporters. “Next man up mentality. You gotta play, you gotta be a pro.”
Kidd was also asked about the injury status of PJ Washington, who is out with a right ankle sprain.
“He's doing court work and hopefully he's back in a week.”
The Mavs and Nets will tip-off at 8:30 PM EST in Dallas. Both teams have struggled, with Dallas sitting at 14-25 while Brooklyn is 11-25 heading into Monday night's contest.
