Andy Robertson has issued a one-word message to Mohamed Salah as his Liverpool teammate’s return from the Africa Cup of Nations becomes clearer. Salah is currently with the Egypt squad for the tournament, which is taking place in Morocco.

Salah has not played a match for Liverpool since December 13, when he made a cameo appearance from the bench in a 2-0 win over Brighton in the Premier League.

Since then, the 33-year-old has missed Liverpool’s last six matches across all competitions, most recently the 4-1 win over Barnsley in the third round of the FA Cup.

Salah has helped Egypt reach the semi-final of AFCON, scoring in each of his four appearances for his country to set up a clash against Senegal this week.

Ahead of the game, Salah posted a photo on Instagram to his 66.2 million followers of himself alongside Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush and Al Ain defender Ramy Rabia.

The post received more than 750,000 likes, including one from Robertson who left a comment on the post which read: “Mooo” accompanied by a red love heart emoji and a two hands together emoji.

Liverpool will be keen to have Salah return to their squad as soon as possible, but will have to wait a little bit longer for the forward to be back on Merseyside.

Egypt will play their AFCON semi-final against Senegal on Wednesday, after which point they are guaranteed to play at least one more game.

Salah and Co. will play a third-place play-off on January 17 if they lose to Senegal, or face either Morocco or Nigeria in the final on January 18 if they claim a victory.

As a result, Liverpool know they will not have Salah available to face Burnley in the Premier League this weekend, but may have hope of having the forward return for the Champions League clash against Marseille on January 21.
