Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icchelseanews that you may have missed…
Chelsea’s recruitment team has reportedly identified RB Leipzig sensation Yan Diomande as a potential attacking addition — and he would be a great signing according to reporter Iomie Stanley.
Diomande has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Bundesliga since joining RB Leipzig from CD Leganes this past summer. and he 19-year-old has been one of the most productive attackers for the Bundesliga club this season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 16 outings in all competitions thus far.
But according to The Athletic, a fee of £86million may be required to sign Diomande in the coming windows, and Furthermore, as Leipzig have no intention of allowing Diomande to leave, it will take a very large offer for them to consider a winter sale as his contract expires in 2030.
And according to reporter Iomie Stanley, Diomande would bring alot to that Chelsea side, he was quoted: ‘Dynamic, explosive, and increasingly decisive in the final third, Diomande possesses a profile that fits neatly into Chelsea’s long-term squad-building strategy.
Diomande is the kind of forward CHELSEA have lacked since the departures of Eden Hazard and, more recently, Christian Pulisic. Naturally comfortable on either wing, he combines electric acceleration, smooth ball control, and the ability to beat defenders both inside and out.
‘His style aligns with ***CHELSEA***’s need for a winger who Carries the ball progressively, Creates isolation opportunities in wide channels, Breaks defensive blocks with direct dribbling, Adds pace to transitions.
‘For a side often criticised for slow, predictable build-up play, Diomande would bring immediacy and unpredictability.’
CHELSEA SUBMIT VALVERDE OFFER?
Chelsea have reportedly tabled a €120 Million package for Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde it has been claimed in the media.
Liam Rosenior is a man that knows he needs to sign players that will improve the squad enough this January in order to get the Blues back on track for that Champions League place next season, ad maybe a trophy or two.
And according to recent reports, CHELSEA have expressed its ‘firm intention’ to sign Valverde by making a bid of €120 million for the Uruguay international, according to Fichajes, although it appears a deal will be tricky.
The combative Uruguayan would be a great fit for Rosenior’s revolution but Los Blancos have not really intended to sell the midfield star.
IcChelseanews View…
We would be shocked to see Velverde make the move to the Premier League – he is happy at Madrid – has shown no desire to leave the Bernabeu – this is a transfer that CHELSEA need to forget about
Chelsea will be making alot of transfer moves over the next few weeks in order to revamp the squad enough to make them challengers for that Premier League title.
It should be a very exciting January for the Blues fans – again – but Velverde is a player that will not be exciting in a Chelsea shirt for the next few weeks.
However – we are hoping that Rosenior is able to bring some experienced players into the side because although we love how talented the squad is, we need a bit of leadership in key areas of the pitch.
And we might also need another striker.
BARCOLA CLAIM MADE
Reporter Iomie Stanley talks about what a Move to Chelsea Could Do for Bradley Barcola’s Career amid reports that the Blues have shown an interest in getting a transfer deal done.
Reports suggest CHELSEA have made contact with PSG over the possibility of signing Bradley Barcola, the 23-year-old French winger who has emerged as one of Europe’s most promising young attackers. While PSG have traditionally been reluctant to sell the electric wide man, a switch to Stamford Bridge would represent a major career moment and a potential stepping stone to global stardom.
Stanley was quoted: ‘Since joining PSG from Lyon in 2023 for around €45 million, Barcola has established himself as a dynamic attacking talent — capable of scoring goals and creating chances from wide areas. In the 2024-25 Ligue 1 season alone, he scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists in the French top flight, showcasing his increasing influence in one of Europe’s top leagues.
‘A move to the Premier League, long regarded as the most competitive domestic league in the world, would test him in new ways. Chelsea offer a platform where pace, creativity and direct attacking play are highly prized, and Barcola’s skill set — including explosive acceleration and intelligent movement in the final third — could flourish in England’s intense style of play.
‘One of the biggest career benefits of joining Chelsea could be consistent first-team football. At PSG, Barcola has sometimes found regular starting places hard to secure among a wealth of attacking talent, including the likes of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé.
‘A move to CHELSEA would likely position him as a key attacking option rather than a rotational piece — a change that could accelerate his development and confidence. Regular Premier League minutes would allow Barcola to sharpen his decision-making, end-product and leadership qualities at the highest level.
‘A move to CHELSEA wouldn’t just be a transfer — it could be a career-defining leap for Bradley Barcola. From becoming a central figure in a top Premier League side to challenging for individual honours and boosting his standing with Les Bleus, the opportunities are significant.
