Liverpool have a few weeks remaining in the January transfer window to finalise any deals before the deadline on 2nd February. To date, the club has made just one acquisition this month, announcing the signing of Mor Talla Ndiaye last week.

The 18 year old is set to join the Under-21s after arriving in Merseyside. After a hefty summer expenditure of £466million, the Reds might instead focus on arranging deals for the summer, especially given their underwhelming performance so far this season.

Arne Slot's team currently sits fourth in the Premier League, trailing leaders Arsenal by 14 points. The Reds have had issues with consistency, but they've advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup and are on track to reach the Champions League knockout stages.

Away from the pitch, several players continue to be associated with a move to Anfield, and with that in mind, the ECHO has taken a look at the latest transfer rumours.

Liverpool handed significant Yan Diomande boost

Yan Diomande has expressed his wish to play for Liverpool, stating that he is a 'huge' fan of the club.

The RB Leipzig youngster has rapidly become one of Europe's standout emerging talents, attracting increasing interest across the continent.

Liverpool have naturally been linked with the winger, while Bayern Munich are also reportedly interested. German publication BILD (via Sport Witness) quoted the RB Leipzig winger as saying: "I want to play for Liverpool.

"I'm a huge Liverpool fan. My dad dreams of seeing me play at Anfield!" Manchester City and Chelsea have also been previously linked with a move alongside Liverpool.

Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has been making renewed telephone contact with Marc Guehi in a bid to convince the defender to join the Bundesliga giants at the Allianz Arena.

It's also understood that Eberl held discussions with Guehi's representative 'a few weeks ago.'

Bayern are said to be persisting with their interest, whilst Liverpool are believed to be mounting a push for a summer acquisition and Manchester City are eyeing a possible January switch.

However, The Athletic suggests that Arsenal and Liverpool are the destinations Guehi favours, although not before the summer when he becomes a free agent.

Liverpool saw a £35million offer plus £5m in additional payments accepted last summer, but failed to complete the transaction before the transfer deadline.

Palace are thought to believe they can command a comparable sum in January, with City particularly interested following injuries to key defenders Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias, whilst John Stones remains sidelined.
