Ibrahima Konate is ‘on track’ to leave Liverpool when his contract expires after the season, journalist David Ornstein has revealed.
The France international’s future has been the subject of speculation in recent months, with Liverpool making efforts to extend his stay at Anfield for the foreseeable future.
However, with no breakthrough in contract talks, Konate is anticipated to depart the Reds on a free transfer when his deal runs out at the end of the season.
Liverpool are expected to target a replacement for the 'world-class' Frenchman in the summer market, with Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi remaining high on the shortlist.

According to Ornstein, Liverpool are expected to focus on signing a new centre-back in the summer after failing to reach a breakthrough in talks to extend Konate's contract.
Konate has been a key player for the Reds this season, making 29 appearances across all competitions under Arne Slot and scoring one goal.
The Frenchman, who joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2021, has lifted five major trophies during his time at Anfield, including the Premier League in 2024/25.
Konate’s performances have been the subject of heavy criticism this term, with Liverpool failing to mount a serious title defence in a disappointing campaign under Slot.
As a result, Real Madrid ended their interest in signing the central defender on a free transfer after the season, informing Liverpool last year that they would not be pursuing a deal for Konate.
