Tottenham have suffered from several injuries and suspensions this season.
Tottenham Hotspur have recently been linked with a move for Brentford right-back Michael Kayode as the North Londoners look to add depth and cover in the backline. It is also worth noting that Kayode is well known to Spurs manager Thomas Frank. He was signed on loan in early 2025, when the Dane was the manager.

Manchester City are looking to sign Kayode
There has been some talk about the fullbacks and their role under Thomas Frank at N17. And this is where the right-back role comes into the spotlight. The Lilywhites do have Pedro Porro and Djed Spence as the main options on that right flank. But both of them have faced criticism at some point this season. This prompts Spurs to have a look at Kayode, given his promising output for the Bees of late.
But Tottenham are far from alone in the race for his signature. There had been interest from the likes of Newcastle United, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan, with all three monitoring the 21-year-old quite closely. But now, according to a recent report from CaughtOffside, Manchester City have emerged as the frontrunners to attain his signature.
Pep Guardiola is quite pushy over strengthening his full-back options, and it looks like the Cityzens have identified Kayode as an ideal long-term fit at the Etihad Stadium.
But that being said, it looks like a possible winter move for him would be quite unlikely. Brentford are looking to keep him at Gtech Community Stadium at least until the end of the ongoing 2025/26 season. And if they do agree to sanction a sale when the summer comes, the report states that the Bees are expected to demand a fee of around £35 million.
With Manchester City now leading the race to his signature, Tottenham may be forced to look somewhere else.

If we are considering Tottenham’s possible alternatives ahead of the next transfer window, the Lilywhites have been linked with Monaco right-back Vanderson for a while, and there is a belief that his signature could be available for around £20 million. But that is just if Tottenham have to start looking elsewhere.
While as things stand, Tottenham do have just a slim chance of signing the Brentford full-back; they will have to push for him and possibly use the Thomas Frank card to attain his signature.
But if that doesn’t happen, someone like Vanderson would also be a strong option.
