What channel is Newcastle United vs Manchester City on? How to watch Carabao Cup semi-final -…

Newcastle United will be hosting Manchester City in the first-leg tie of their huge semi-final Carabao Cup clash tonight (January 13).

St James’ Park will play host to the reigning champions as they continue their bid to retain the Carabao Cup in a showdown with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in a fierce battle set to take place tonight.

Eddie Howe’s men secured their space in the semi-final of the cup competition after defeating teams such as Bradford City, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham.

There are already updates for the Newcastle team to face Manchester City tonight. Full-back Livramento will miss the match after sustaining an injury in the FA Cup win over Bournemouth on Saturday (January 10), which stretched Newcastle after the match to penalties. However, Anthony Elanga and Jacob Murphy could be in line for a return to the pitch tonight.

Howe told reporters: "I will have discussions with the medical team and performance team; physical and energy levels are of the utmost importance for this game. We will have to make decisions based on that. This is a huge challenge, some players have just played 120 minutes and then a few days later are being asked to go again, but I'd like to think, physically and mentally, come kick-off we will be ready to go again.”

Meanwhile, Manchester City are hunting their first Carabao Cup since 2021. The Sky Blues have the pedigree for the feat, having won the competition in eight previous occasions. Pep’s men have defeated Huddersfield, Swansea, and Brentford on their way to this season’s semi-final.

The Spanish gaffer also has squad issues, with a number of players out of action. This includes Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, John Stones, Mateo Kovacic, Oscar Bobb and Savinho. However, Rayan Ait-Nouri has returned from AFCON following Algeria’s elimination, while new signing Antoine Semenyo is available due to a new EFL rule allowing players to play for two clubs in the same competition each season.

As a result, both sides have all to play for tonight as the teams take to the pitch in the first leg of their semi-final clash. Here’s how you can watch tonight’s match live.
