Liverpool have a few weeks remaining in the January transfer window to wrap up any deals before the February 2 deadline.

Thus far, the Reds have secured just one signing this month, announcing the capture of Mor Talla Ndiaye last week. The 18-year-old defender is set to join up with the Under-21s following his arrival on Merseyside. After a substantial summer outlay of £466million last summer, Liverpool may instead focus on arranging transfers for the summer, especially given what has been a frustrating campaign thus far.

Arne Slot's team currently occupy fourth place in the Premier League, trailing table-toppers Arsenal by 14 points. The Merseysiders have battled for form, though they have advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup and remain well-placed to secure Champions League knockout qualification. Here's all the latest news from Anfield.

Liverpool receive major Yan Diomande encouragement

Yan Diomande has expressed his ambition to represent Liverpool, declaring that he is a 'huge' fan of the club, reports the Mirror.

The RB Leipzig prospect, 19, has rapidly established himself as one of Europe's most promising rising stars, drawing increasing interest from across the continent.

Liverpool have understandably been connected with the winger, whilst Bayern Munich are also said to be pursuing his signature. German publication BILD (via Sport Witness) have cited the RB Leipzig attacker as stating: "I want to play for Liverpool.

"I'm a huge Liverpool fan. My dad dreams of seeing me play at Anfield!" Manchester City and Chelsea have also previously been mentioned as potential suitors alongside Liverpool.

Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg claims that Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has been making fresh telephone contact regarding Marc Guehi in a bid to convince the defender to move to the Allianz Arena.

Eberl is also reported to have held talks with 25-year-old Guehi's representative 'a few weeks ago'. Bayern are said to be persistent in their pursuit, whilst Liverpool are believed to be driving for a summer transfer and Manchester City are interested in a possible January switch.

Meanwhile, The Athletic suggests that Arsenal and Liverpool are the clubs Guehi fancies joining, though not until next summer when his deal expires.

Liverpool had an offer of £35million plus £5m in bonuses agreed last summer, but failed to complete that transaction by transfer deadline day.

Palace are thought to believe they can secure a comparable sum in January, with City extremely eager following injuries to key defenders Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias, whilst John Stones is also sidelined.
