Manchester City star Erling Haaland cheekily poked fun at Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai following the 4-1 win over Barnsley. The Reds booked their place in the FA Cup fourth round after overcoming League One opposition after Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike added to the scoresheet, following the Hungarian's opener.
Arne Slot's side navigated their way past a stubborn side and needed a late salvo of goals from substitutes Wirtz and Ekitike to take the game away from the Tykes. Szoboszlai had given Liverpool the lead with another thunderbolt to add to his collection before Frimpong doubled the lead shortly after.
However, the midfielder was left red-faced when his attempt at a backheel on the edge of his six-yard box went all wrong allowing Adam Phillips to reduce the deficit. Barnsley grew into the game and had shouts of a penalty waved away when Reyes Cleary went down under the challenge from Szoboszlai.
Haaland, who failed to score in City's 10-1 win over Exeter City in their third round tie, saw the brighter side of things from Szoboszlai's point of view.
Posting to social media platform Snapchat, the Norwegian noticed a particularly glum Szoboszlai after his emphatic effort.
As a result, Haaland videoed the Hungarian's muted celebrations before sending a message which read: "Domi what a goal smile a bit."

Szoboszlai did, however, celebrate the goal when he appeared to pay homage to Mohamed Salah, who is away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt, copying the 33-year-old's famous celebration after his wondergoal against Chelsea in 2019.
The midfielder has come under criticism for his role for Barnsley's sole effort of the evening.
Tykes boss Connor Hourihane accused the Hungarian of disrespecting the lower league opposition as he argued that Szoboszlai would not display such antics in a high-stakes Premier League or Champions League match.

He said: "I'm a little bit disappointed with their player if I'm honest. I thought it was a bit disrespectful.
"I don't think he does that against Chelsea, or Arsenal in a Champions League game. Unbelievable little feeling and buzz for Adam obviously, but a little bit of lack of respect from their player to be honest."
Szoboszlai was accused of disrespect during Liverpool's 3-0 win over Manchester United last season after opting to showboat as the Reds pushed for a fourth goal.
Slot failed to be drawn on the incident in question on Monday, admitting it was a "weird" decision, however the Dutchman said the matter would be spoken about privately.
He said: "I don't think you should do that in a Premier League game, League Cup game, friendly game or a training session.
"It's a weird choice and I also have my opinion about it but I prefer to keep that to myself and speak about it with Dom."
