Tottenham Hotspur are about to complete the signing of Chelsea academy product Conor Gallagher and it seems Spurs aren’t done there, with the North Londoners set to rival Chelsea for a goalkeeper.
Gallagher was believed to be going to Aston Villa but out of the blue, David Ornstein reported that Spurs had landed Gallagher’s signature. It comes after Rodrigo Bentancur was forced to undergo surgery.
A big signing for Spurs and one that will hurt Chelsea fans, with Gallagher joining a bitter rival. Of course, Chelsea could have received £50m for Gallagher in 2023, but sold him to Atleti a year later for £38m.

Chelsea and Tottenham do have another thing in common, and it is underperforming goalkeepers. Robert Sanchez and Guglielmo Vicario have both struggled to prove why they were signed by the London sides.
Chelsea battling Tottenham and Man United for £60m stopper
While deals are unlikely in January, there will be no doubt in Liam Rosenior’s mind that Chelsea need to sign a new goalkeeper. Sanchez is capable of a clanger and his kicking against Fulham was atrocious.

Well, according to AS Roma Live, Chelsea have picked their replacement in Roma’s Mile Svilar. The 26-year-old is enjoying a stellar season, conceding just 17 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions.
Mike Maignan has been long linked with Chelsea but Milan have increased their offer to keep the French stopper and remain confident he will sign a new contract. Chelsea, Spurs and Man United want Svilar.
It is claimed a £60m offer would tempt Roma to sell one of their star players, a Serbia international who was born in Belgium. Svilar has 11 clean sheets in his 26 appearances for Roma during the 25-26 season.
If Chelsea only make one signing in January, who should it be?👀

The stats show Svilar is Serie A’s best goalkeeper currently
Italy’s top tier boasts some fine goalkeepers. Yann Sommer at Inter Milan is one of the most underrated goalkeepers in modern football, while Napoli signed Vanja Milinkovic-Savic in the summer from Torino.
Maignan, of course, is considered one of the best goalkeepers in world football and yet, according to FotMob, Svilar is Serie A’s best currently. He boasts a save percentage of 83.8%, conceding just 17.
Lazio’s Ivan Provedel is second with 81.4% and Jean Butez is third with 80.9%, as he continues to shine under Cesc Fabregas. Maignan is in fifth at the moment, while Svilar is considered one of Roma’s best.
If Chelsea could do a deal for Svilar, more likely to be in the summer than now, then it would be a super bit of business. Whether Chelsea are willing to spend £60m on Svilar, remains to be seen at this stage.
