After Xabi Alonso’s sudden departure, Jurgen Klopp’s name keeps popping up for the Real Madrid job.
Following a Supercopa final loss to Barcelona, Alonso parted ways with Real Madrid just six months into his tenure.
Since then, speculation has been rife over who will take the reins at the Bernabeu. Klopp’s name keeps coming up.

No Liverpool fan wants to see that, let’s be honest. Seeing Klopp in any colours other than Liverpool red would be tough to take, but especially that Real Madrid white that has caused us so much pain in recent years.
It may well come to pass, though.
Fabrizio Romano on Real Madrid and Jurgen Klopp
If anyone is to shed further light on these links, it’s Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian is in the midst of a hectic January window, but it’s manager talk that has kept him busy over the past week.

He addressed Klopp to Madrid in a recent YouTube video, revealing: “Many questions also on Jurgen Klopp. I can tell you guys Jurgen Klopp nothing is decided, nothing is agreed for sure.

“He’s a manager super appreciated internally by people at Real Madrid like Florentino Perez. But still nothing pre-agreed.”
Klopp was contacted immediately over the vacancy, but no formal talks with the club have been held.
Ex-Liverpool star Alvaro Arbeloa has stepped up from Real Madrid Castilla in an interim capacity, but it sounds like Perez wants to bring the German back into the world of management.
I fear we may hear more on this in the near future.

Alvaro Arbeloa’s coaching style inspired by Klopp
Arbeloa was always going to be favourite to take over in the short-term while Madrid hunt down a new manager.
Maybe it’s nothing, but he employs a strikingly similar system to that of Klopp.
As Marca reveal: “As a coach, Arbeloa arrives at the first team with a defined style of play. His base system is the 4-3-3, with high pressing, a team pushed up into the opponent’s half and constant intensity.”
Whether that means Klopp is a guarantee to arrive at the Bernabeu, it’s hard to say for sure. It is, however, another hint at the intentions of Madrid.
