N’Golo Kante is a name that always brings a smile to every single Chelsea supporter after the successful years he enjoyed at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea secured the signature of N’Golo Kante all the way back in 2016 for around £32 million from then Premier League side Leicester City.
Kante isn’t just a former player; he’s statistically one of the best central midfielders to ever set foot at Stamford Bridge. He made 269 appearances, scoring 13 goals and assisting 16 times.
However, he wasn’t known for his contributions. It was his incredible tackling ability, endless engine, and work rate that defied belief at times.
He is also one of an elite group of players to have won both the Champions League and the World Cup while being a Chelsea player.
What does Moises Caicedo need to do to enter the Kante conversation?
Or is it a bridge too far?

Kante left Chelsea to join Saudi side Al-Ittihad upon the expiry of his contract back in 2023, but he’s now looking to step away and return to Europe.
According to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncioglu (as per Turkiye Today), N’Golo Kante is set for talks with Fenerbahce over a move.
They have already reached out formally to Kante about the move, and a meeting will happen in due course.
It would be quite the statement to swap the massive contract in Saudi Arabia for a move to Turkey, but it’s not the first time a former Chelsea manager or player has made their way to Fenerbahce.

N’Golo Kante takes a similar path to Jose Mourinho
There are some similarities that you may not realise between N’Golo Kante’s potential move to Fenerbahce and the decisions made by Jose Mourinho.
Kante joining the club that Mourinho just spent 15 months molding into a powerhouse feels like the final piece of a puzzle that the former Chelsea boss started.
It’s not just this, though, as Mourinho made the move to Turkey to prove he could still dominate a league and challenge in Europe, which is similar to Kante’s aims.
He has the 2026 World Cup in mind. Just as Mourinho used Fenerbahce as a springboard, Kante is using it to show France manager Didier Deschamps he deserves a shot.
