Former Celtics forward is set to join the Sydney Kings of the National Basketball League in Australia, according to Olgun Uluc of ESPN.
Craig has played in the NBA for the past eight seasons, including joining the Celtics last February after he was released by the Chicago Bulls following the trade deadline.
Craig suited up for just 17 games in Boston, providing extra veteran depth on the wing. However, he struggled offensively during his time in Boston, averaging just 2.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while shooting 35.6 percent from the field and 29 percent from 3-point range. Those struggles left him on the outside of Boston’s playoff rotation as the team fell in the second round to the Knicks in six games.
The Celtics opted to go with younger options on the free agent market to replace Craig on the wing, bringing aboard Josh Minott and drafting Hugo Gonzalez. Craig has remained a free agent up until this point but did suit up for Team USA in America qualifying games back in November. With no NBA offers coming after that, it appears he’s set to resume his basketball career overseas.
The undrafted wing has averaged 5.9 points and 3.9 rebounds in 458 NBA games, including stints with the Nuggets, Suns, Bulls, Bucks and Pacers.
