Rio Ferdinand demands Liam Rosenior changes this one thing about struggling Chelsea attack

Liam Rosenior has already taken charge of his first match as Chelsea manager, but as a rotation heavy cup game, it hardly counts.

We’re really curious to see how he works with his biggest star, and Rio Ferdinand feels the same way.

“I think the biggest, one of his biggest things, that he needs to get right is getting the best out of Cole Palmer,” Ferdinand said in quotes picked up by the Chelsea Chronicle.

“I want to see the firing, goal scoring, the carefree, consistent Cole Palmer that we saw when he went there. He’s had a few injuries obviously.

“I take that as well. But I think he’s got to get to a place where he’s playing a system and a way of playing that is going to get the best out of him because he’s their biggest threat, their best player, their most creative brain on the pitch.”

Fans wait to see what Palmer plan is

That’s really what’s so exciting about tomorrow’s game – we get to see what Rosenior has in store for Palmer. Will he use him centrally or on the right? Will he give him lots of freedom to road or try to contain him? Will he get overlapping support from the full back or be pushed wider by inverting players?

We find out tomorrow…

The London is Blue podcast had similar questions about Palmer – where is he going to fit in, and how does the boss get the most out of him? It’s the thing we’re all looking forward to about tomorrow.

We’re curious to see how Chelsea line up in their first PROPER game of the Liam Rosenior era – we hope he uses an idea that his assistant tried at Fulham a week ago, with Cole Palmer out wide and Enzo Fernandez in the hole.
