Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has more than half a dozen injuries to contend with ahead of tonight’s Carabao Cup tie.

In a way, it’s just as well they are dipping their toes into the transfer market; Man City go into tonight’s game with seven players ruled out through injury or international. That includes stalwart defenders and attacking outlets.
In defence, the trio of Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol and John Stones are all unavailable. Dias has a hamstring injury that has sidelined him until mid-February at the earliest, while Gvardiol and Stones have long-term injuries that will take at least a couple more months to recover from.
For the midfield, Matteo Kovacic has spent much of this season on the injury list thanks to an ankle injury. He is joined by Oscar Bobb, who while not entirely ruled out is unlikely to play thanks to a hamstring issue.
Upfront, Omar Marmoush is still on international duty with Egypt, while Savinho’s thigh injury means he won’t feature for at least another month.
According to reports, goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma will also not be playing tonight, with James Trafford getting the nod between the sticks instead.
