According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Davis is likely to undergo surgery to repair ligament damage in his left hand and could be sidelined for several months.
Charania adds that, given the prognosis and the Mavericks’ current direction, Davis’ season is essentially over.
Davis, who appeared in just 20 games this season, is averaging 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game, while the Mavericks are currently outside the Play-In spots, sitting 12th in the Western Conference with a 15–25 record.
