Premier League champions Liverpool cruised through to the fourth round of the FA Cup courtesy of a 4-1 win over League One strugglers Barnsley on Monday night.
Dominik Szoboszlai, Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike were all on the scoresheet for the Reds at Anfield, setting up a fourth round tie against Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.
Next up for Arne Slot’s side is a home game against Burnley in the league, before a trip to France to face Marseille in the Champions League.
In the meantime, it appears that one Premier League defender is keen to join Liverpool.
indykaila News claims that Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven has his sights set on a shock move to Liverpool.
The report suggests that the Dutch defender is keen to depart north London, with Spurs once again struggling this term after a 17th-placed finish in the top flight last season.

Van de Ven has been one of Spurs’ few good performers so far this campaign, making 28 appearances for Thomas Frank’s side.
The Netherlands international joined Tottenham from German side Wolfsburg back in 2023 and has since built a reputation as one of the best central defenders in the English top flight.
His next appearance for Spurs will be his 80th for the club, but it is claimed that the defender is ready to leave his current club during this summer’s transfer window.
It is also claimed that the centre-back’s dream destination would be Anfield, although it remains to be seen whether or not the Reds will make a move to attempt to sign the player.
Van de Ven’s contract with the Lilywhites is set to run until the end of the 2028/29 campaign.
