When the Warriors and Jonathan Kuminga reached an agreement on a new contract last fall, both sides hoped better days were ahead.

Instead, it appears Golden State and the fifth-year wing are finally headed for a divorce.

After some promising early returns, Kuminga resorted to old habits and has been out of Steve Kerr’s rotation for the last 12 games. The 23-year-old would clearly benefit from a fresh start, but the franchise doesn’t want to part with him unless it receives a meaningful return in a trade.

Kuminga becomes trade-eligible on Thursday, but The Standard’s Danny Emerman doesn’t believe the Warriors have a deal lined up yet.
