Chelsea vs Arsenal team news

Chelsea must wait to see if Reece James and Cole Palmer will be available for Wednesday's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Arsenal, live on Sky Sports.

James, Palmer and Malo Gusto missed the weekend's FA Cup win at Charlton - Liam Rosenior's first game in charge - and the new head coach is giving them time to prove their fitness ahead of the Gunners' visit.

Moises Caicedo is suspended for the hosts.

William Saliba and Leandro Trossard are doubts for Arsenal after missing the FA Cup tie with Portsmouth at the weekend.

Piero Hincapie, Riccardo Calafiori and Cristhian Mosquera remain out, meaning Arsenal could have just four senior defenders available for the first leg in Gabriel, Ben White, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Jurrien Timber, plus 16-year-old Marli Salmon.

But Kai Havertz could be available after making his return from injury against Portsmouth, although Mikel Arteta stressed the need to manage the German's minutes as he returns to fitness.
