Lakers head coach JJ Redick said it’s crazy how certain people disrespect LeBron James, after a game in which the team didn’t even expect him to play against the Hawks, yet he put up 31 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists in his first back-to-back of the season.
Los Angeles Lakers legend LeBron James continues to put in incredible performances at the age of 41, as he absolutely dominated in a 141–116 win against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday.
LeBron dropped 31 points (12/20 FG, 2/4 3PT), nine rebounds, and 10 assists in 32 minutes of play, leading the Lakers to their 24th win of the season.
After the game, LeBron received huge praise from Lakers head coach JJ Redick, who went off on his haters postgame.
He said it’s crazy how people talk about him when LeBron puts so much into the game and continues to play like that at his age.
“His competitive stamina is off the charts. It’s actually unfortunate how much this guy puts into it and how much he cares and the way certain people talk about him. It’s crazy,” Redick stated postgame. “Come be around him every day and see how much this guy cares. It’s off the charts.”
Redick explained that the team didn’t even expect him to play in the game, as he was questionable ahead of the matchup due to foot and sciatica issues.
“We didn’t expect him to be able to play,” Redick emphasized after LeBron’s near triple-double performance.
This season, 41-year-old LeBron James is averaging 22.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 6.9 assists in around 33 minutes per game.
Meanwhile, the Lakers are fifth in the Western Conference with a 24–14 record.
