Everton have been linked with Ben White, with an intriguing new claim being made about the Arsenal defender today.
The Toffees are in the market for a new right-back at the moment, and earlier this week it was suggested that White was of interest to Everton.
But the Everton links to White were then downplayed, with Arsenal supposedly having zero interest in offloading him this month.
That didn’t come as too much of a surprise, with Arsenal currently fighting on four fronts.
Ultimately, Mikel Arteta can’t risk weakening his squad while there is potential to have a special season.
The excitement for some Everton fans about the notion of a move for White has been short-lived. But a new claim has been made today that perhaps opens the door for a move in 2026.

It is understandable that Arsenal don’t want to lose White in this window.
He may not have played much this season. But he’s had injury problems which is part of the reason he hasn’t been seen much.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
TEAMtalk have provided some more information about White’s situation, and they reiterate Arsenal’s stance of not wanting to sell in this window.
But there are a couple of lines that may put Everton on red alert.
It’s suggested that White will hold talks with Arsenal in the summer about his squad role. He is not ready at this point in his career to be a squad player, it’s stated.
They say ‘all parties will decide on the player’s future over the summer – and a sale at that point cannot be ruled out’.
This comes after it was claimed that White would actually be open to leaving Arsenal.
So Everton could yet make a move for White. If the defender doesn’t play an overly large part for the Gunners between now and the end of the season, then he could look to leave the Emirates.
But Everton would still have a tough time landing him.

If it came out that White wanted to leave, he would not be short of suitors – and he’d be expensive, given he has a contract until 2028 with the option for a further year.
One gets the feeling that White would also want some kind of European football if he was to leave Arsenal.
Everton are in the mix at the moment, but it will take a big push from David Moyes to ensure the Toffees are playing in a European competition next season.
