Report: Chelsea were forced to make decision that showed they'd fully lost trust in Enzo Maresca before exit

More stories are emerging about the end of Enzo Maresca’s tenure at Chelsea.

Maresca’s overall spell at Stamford Bridge has to go down as a success. In his first season there, he guided the team to the Club World Cup and Conference League trophies.

However, his stint at Chelsea ended in quite ugly fashion, with the 45-year-old deciding to leave west London on New Year’s Day.

What does Liam Rosenior need to do to overturn Enzo Maresca’s Arsenal curse?👀

It was a development that left Toni Kroos surprised, as well as many others, given how well Maresca had done while in charge.

Chelsea put medical chief in technical area to make sure Enzo Maresca was handling returning players appropriately

Chelsea have had a lot of injury problems this season, and it looks like the club were very concerned about that.

A report from the Daily Mail has claimed that Chelsea went as far as to put their head of medical Bryce Cavanagh into the technical area to remind Maresca when he needed to substitute certain players.

According to the newspaper, this decision was made after re-injuries to two Chelsea stars, who have not been named.

It really shows the lack of trust the Chelsea hierarchy had in Maresca towards the end of his time at the club.

Cole Palmer, Liam Delap and Romeo Lavia are just three Chelsea players who have had injury issues this season.

Palmer is still having some trouble and is now a doubt for Chelsea’s game against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

What’s coming out of Enzo Maresca’s camp

This is not the first time there has been talk about Maresca’s handling of Chelsea players’ fitness.

There have also been claims that Palmer and Reece James were risked, which have reportedly left Maresca far from happy.

As time goes on, the Italian may eventually decide to speak about his Chelsea exit. Until then, everything being said is just speculation and briefs from his camp and former employers.

Going forward, hopefully Liam Rosenior does not have to deal with as many injury problems.
