Chelsea wonderkid with outrageous goalscoring record signs professional contract with the Blues

Securing some of their up and coming talents has become far more important for Chelsea after what has happened over the past few years.

The Blues were unable to tie down Rio Ngumoha to a permanent contract with the Blues after developing his talents at Cobham, and he ended up making a controversial move to rivals Liverpool.

Chelsea were left furious with Liverpool, however have decided to respond by making sure a similar situation doesn’t unfold again.

The Blues tied down Ryan Kavuma-McQueen to a professional contract, another player who the Reds were circling in on.

Ibrahim Rabbaj signs professional contract with Chelsea

The latest incredible talent coming through at Cobham is Ibrahim Rabbaj, and this season has seen him making regular appearances for the Chelsea U18s.

After turning 17 at the start of January, the Moroccan is eligible to sign a professional contract, and Chelsea are not prepared to let this one slip through their fingers.

According to TheSecretScout, Chelsea now have an agreement with Rabbaj over his first senior contract.

They said: “Chelsea have now completed an agreement with Ibrahim Rabbaj with the Moroccan signing his first professional contract.

“Seen as an exciting prospect at Cobham. New contract is signed and sealed for Rabbaj at Chelsea until 2028.”

Rabbaj’s incredible youth goalscoring record

So far this season, Rabbaj has two goals and two assists in just 409 minutes for the Chelsea U18s.

However, this pales in comparison to the rate he was scoring goals through the younger sides at Cobham, which likely played a big part in him getting his chances for the club.

For the Under 16s, Rabbaj scored 52 goals and registered 60 assists in just 40 games, averaging nearly three goal contributions a game.

The Blues have done well to convince the youngster he is best off staying at Chelsea, however cannot afford to leave it too long before handing him a clear pathway to the first team squad.
