Liverpool are set to be handed a fresh transfer blow, with Manchester City eyeing up a move for long-time target Marc Guehi. The Crystal Palace defender is out of contract in the summer and had been linked with a free agent move to Anfield.
But with Pep Guardiola's side facing a defensive injury crisis, City are reportedly set to make a move for Guehi before the end of the January transfer window. Following injuries to Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol, City are willing to make an offer to sign Guehi rather than wait until the summer when the defender will have his choice of clubs, Talksport suggests.
Palace have reportedly set their asking price for Guehi at £35m, a fee which City are understood to be reluctant to go to. However, a move remains possible, which would see Guehi join new signing Antoine Semenyo at the Etihad.

Liverpool had been close to signing Guehi on transfer deadline day last summer, only for Palace manager Oliver Glasner to block the move at the last minute, being unable to find a suitable replacement.
The Reds remain keen on bringing Guehi to Anfield, but are reportedly unwilling to make a move in January and would rather wait until the England defender is out of contract.
With a World Cup in the summer, Guehi would likely only want to make the move to City with some guarantees of regular game time, as he bids to keep his spot at the heart of England's defence.

Sky Sports' Kaveh Solhekol maintains there is "no favourite" in the battle to land the Palace captain at present, despite the player already understanding 'exactly how he'd fit in' at Liverpool.
Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg also claimed that Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has been making fresh telephone contact regarding Guehi in a bid to convince the defender to move to the Allianz Arena.
Eberl is also reported to have held talks with 25-year-old Guehi's representative 'a few weeks ago'.
