West Ham Have 'Contacted' Chelsea About Signing Player This Month - It's Not Sterling Or Disasi

West Ham have made an approach for Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, according to reports.

TEAMtalk claim that the Hammers have “contacted” their London rivals about signing the Denmark international this month.

Jorgensen is currently no.2 to Robert Sanchez. While he did start against Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup at the weekend, that was only his 7th appearance in all competitions this season.

It has been suggested that the 23-year-old is angling for a move away from Stamford Bridge in order to get more first-team football, and TEAMtalk believe he would be “open” to making the switch to the London Stadium.

Chelsea are not willing to negotiate

Despite Jorgensen’s interest in joining West Ham, it doesn’t look like a deal will be agreed, with the Blues looking to keep hold of him. They want to maintain depth in the goalkeeping position.

Jorgensen is not the only Chelsea player who has been linked with the Irons in recent weeks, with Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi also said to be on the club’s radar.

However, as things stand, it doesn’t appear as if any move will be made for those two players either.

West Ham are keen to bring in another keeper

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo is reportedly displeased with his options in goal. He hasn’t given summer signing Mads Hermansen a single minute of first-team action, so the Dane’s days as a Hammer look to be numbered.

While Alphonse Areola has been ever-present in goal, it is clearly felt that a better shot-stopper than the Frenchman can be brought in.

In addition to Jorgensen, reports have linked the Hammers with the likes of Al Nassr’s Bento (who has been tipped to join Genoa) and Lazio’s Christos Mandas.
