Chelsea chief Behdad Eghbali has come in for some criticism in recent times, as the ownership continues to be scrutinised at Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Maresca’s departure from Chelsea has infuriated fans even more about the current state of their club and the way it is being run.
It’s the fact that it was over something as silly as disagreements with the medical department that makes things worse, with the former Chelsea boss clearly not getting a say on some matters.
Appointing Liam Rosenior is seen as the easy option by the owners. A man who has already worked under their leadership and on their pay sheet at Strasbourg.
But to be fair to Rosenior, the early signs are bright, and he’s a respectful, hungry, young manager who genuinely wants to succeed at Chelsea.

Simon Jordan shares his impression of Behdad Eghbali
Behdad Eghbali is the co-founder of Clearlake Capital and the primary driving force behind Chelsea’s day-to-day operations.
However, many believe that he’s treating Chelsea as if it’s a Silicon Valley project, rather than actually knowing how to help run a football club properly.
But Simon Jordan met up with the Stamford Bridge chief recently (as per TalkSPORT), and he’s actually a big fan of him.
His comments are the complete opposite of common beliefs and will certainly raise a few eyebrows.
“I’ve met the ownership of Chelsea, and I can tell you, specifically, Eghbali is one of the most compelling, capable individuals that I’ve ever met in football.
“I’ve got no allegiance to Chelsea. I couldn’t give a monkey’s about Chelsea. But when I meet people, I spend my entire time bringing situations to the circumstance and having a go at people.
“So when I’m praising somebody, it’s not because I’m getting a backhand or because I’ve got some affiliation, or it’s because I speak the same language, and because when I see someone that’s really good, and it’s very rare, because I see people that BS all the time, and people that will have you believe they can do things and they can’t. I think Eghbali is one of the most capable individuals that I’ve ever come across.”

Behdad Eghbali’s faults at Chelsea
Eghbali has overseen the departure of five permanent managers in less than four years, as Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino, Enzo Maresca, and now Rosenior is at the helm.
And the criticism for building Chelsea into a business model comes from signing players to 8-year contracts and then moving them through the multi-club pipeline.
However, there have been off-field issues too. While Boehly was the face of the takeover, Eghbali is the one pulling the strings. This internal friction has led to a disconnected internal structure, leaving the club without a clear, unified voice at the top.
