Arsenal Warned That In-Demand Star Could“Force”January Move To Liverpool Despite Everton Interest

Arsenal have been warned that Ben White could force a move to rivals Liverpool following Conor Bradley’s recent injury.

The Gunners are preparing for a Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea with the first leg taking place at 8 pm at Stamford Bridge. Mikel Arteta will hope his side can come through the semis, and land a spot at Wembley in the final.

Arsenal have their mind on other things too though, as reports have suggested that Everton could make a move to sign defender Ben White. The Toffees are reportedly keen on White, as they want more quality at right-back.

The Gunners signed White for £50m from Brighton in 2023, but he has since lost his starting right-back role at the Emirates to Jurrien Timber.

Arsenal warned White could force Liverpool move

Despite the reported interest from Everton, their Merseyside rivals Liverpool could also be keen on White, as their starting right-back Conor Bradley suffered a season-ending knee injury against Arsenal last week.

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy believes that the Reds could make a move for White, and that the defender could ‘force’ the move. He told the Mirror: “Ben White to Liverpool would make sense but Arsenal might not want to sell to a rival. It would depend on how adamant the player is that he wants to go.

“I think he’s a really good footballer, he’s a big lad. Yes, he’s had a couple of injury problems recently, but he’s an experienced guy, he’s played a lot of games and he can play centre-back and right-back.

“I wouldn’t see why if Liverpool were keen, then why he wouldn’t try and force that move, having said that I’d find it strange to think that Arsenal would let him go. Or they might just think they’re too far ahead of Liverpool anyway, so we’ll have to see how that plays out.”

The Gunners say White is ‘not for sale’

Amid the recent transfer talk surrounding White, it is understood that Arsenal don’t plan to sell the English defender, despite his recent lack of consistent game time under Arteta.

Recent reports have said the Gunners firmly believe that White is not for sale, and don’t plan to consider letting him leave until the summer. So, it is unlikely that he would join rivals Liverpool.
