Zach Edey will miss at least six more weeks as he continues to recover from a left ankle injury.
Memphis Grizzlies will remain without big man Zach Edey for the foreseeable future, as the team announced he will miss at least six more weeks due to an ankle injury.
Memphis Grizzlies / Schedule
Edey continues to recover from a stress reaction in his left ankle that was first diagnosed on December 11.
According to the Grizzlies, consulting medical experts unanimously recommended that the center stay on his current plan of offloading and rehabilitation. He will be reevaluated again in approximately six weeks.
The Grizzlies have been without Edey since the second week of December. He was originally given a four-week recovery window, but he has not yet been cleared to return to basketball activities.
Despite limited availability, Edey made a positive impact when he was on the floor. Memphis went 7- 4 in the 11 games he played.
He posted averages of 13.6 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks across 11 games before suffering a setback with his left ankle.
