Romano Says Summer Move Is On The Cards After Bundesliga Ace Declares That He Wants To“Play For Liverpool”

Liverpool fan Yan Diomande could leave RB Leipzig this summer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano played down the possibility of the winger moving teams this month, but it could be a different story at the end of the season:

“If you think Yan Diomande will move in the summer? Yes. if you ask me if Diomande will move in January? I think this is going to be complicated because Leipzig already made big money in the summer. They don’t need money now.”

Diomande only moved to Leipzig from Leganes last July for €20m, so it is not a surprise that the Bundesliga side are keen to keep hold of him for a little while longer.

The player has declared his love for Liverpool

Diomande recently said on a TikTok video that he wants to “play for Liverpool”, and he is a “huge” fan, which suggests the Reds would be in pole position to sign him if he does become available over the coming months.

Romano claims that Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Tottenham are expected to be among his suitors as well.

Diomande’s price tag is sky high

Reports in the German media have suggested that Leipzig could hold out for as much as €100m (£87m) for the 19-year-old. That would be a massive sum for a player who only made his professional debut in March last year.

Sky Sports News in the UK have placed the figure between €60m (£52m) and €70m (£61m), but a lot depends on how much competition there will be for Diomande.

As Romano points out, Leipzig are not short of cash, and if several clubs register their interest, the cost of signing the Ivorian international could potentially skyrocket.
